		<title>Have the Democrats no Morals?</title>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[How can a mayor who has been indicted be even considered as someone who should attend the Democratic convention?<br>Mr. Kilpatrick , mayor or Detroit had been ordered to wear an electronic tether and stay in a 3 county area because of pending assault and perjury charges.<br>The honorable mayor, who previously violated his bond by traveling outside the country, spent a night in jail. Judge Leonard Townsend called the punishment "silly and unwarranted."<br><p></p>      <p>“The defendant may go to the Democratic National
Convention,” Judge Townsend said during an arraignment for the mayor.
“I don’t think the people of the city of Detroit should be represented
by a person wearing prison clothes or wearing a tether.”</p><p>Mr. Kilpatrick is a Democrat  who has pledged his support to the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Barrack Obama
of Illinois.(another one of Obama's upstanding supporters.)</p><p>Of course the far left think nothing of this type of behavior, to them it is perfectly normal.</p><p>With this kind of behavior from our elected officials, how can we expect our youth to act any differently?<br></p><p> Though the mayor’s lawyers have argued against the travel
restrictions that were imposed on him, it was Judge Townsend who
brought up the idea that Mr. Kilpatrick should be able to attend the
convention in Denver.</p><p>I'm sure if he went to the convention, he would be praised as some sort of hero/victim. <br></p><p>Mayor Kilpatrick and his former Chief of Staff were involved an an alleged affair, which they both denied in testimony in a police whistle blower lawsuit.&nbsp; Their testimony was later found to be not true, according to text messages. She is charged with seven felonies.<br></p><p>Several charges have resulted from this incident, leading to calls for his resignation, which he has refused.<br></p><p>The only official with the clear power to remove Mr. Kilpatrick is  Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who has scheduled a hearing Sept. 3 to decide whether to take such action.</p><p>Governor
Granholm, a Democrat, said Thursday that Mr. Kilpatrick’s legal team
has inquired about a pardon or immunity if he testifies at the hearing
and that she planned to respond later in the day.</p><p>“This has got
to be resolved,” she told reporters at an automotive industry
convention in northern Michigan. “This has been very, very difficult
for the city and for the state. It’s obvious why we need a resolution.”</p>

<p>It will be interesting to see how this is resolved, will it be resolved in a ethical manner, or will it be politics as usual, the same politics that have left Detroit and Michigan laying in ruin?<br></p>

		<title>Common Sense or Good Sense?</title>

Hello, Good Sense!<br>By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Nathan_Mamo]Nathan Mamo<br><br>While we use both terms interchangeably, in fact, "common sense" is almost a thing of the past in many ways and by a healthy logic ought to be replaced by "good sense."<br><br>The "common" in "common sense" formerly referred to information, know-how or "sense" that most people already grasped or understood "in common." This was easy to detect when societal groups were smaller and more stable than today: tribe, clan, ethnicity, nationality, family, village, neighborhood, religious affiliation, language and cultural group, professional association, etc. Based largely on "common" experience, one likely grew up in the commonality and cultivated a kind of unsung expertise in whatever skills or knowledge was involved in membership in that group and locale.<br><br>Today, life is very different. Between the great mobility of individuals, families and other groups in society, and the relatively huge numbers of people involved in any neighborhood or region, the experiences and insights of individuals who happen to be near each other are much less common than in former days. Gone are the days when we are likely to utter the words, "Everybody knows that ..."<br><br>Note that "common sense" had almost nothing to do with intelligence. It was the lived experience of the many in an engaged sort of life in a particular realm that mattered.<br><br>"Good sense" on the other hand existed in olden days, too. But, while "good sense" overlapped with common sense, it could also indicate genuine ability. Today, "good sense" especially describes those who are adroit at change and circumstance. A particular "good sense" is often appropriate to a particular time and place. It might or it might not transfer well to a different time or place. To show good sense means that one can engage the current reality effectively. "Good sense" might mean to know when to speak and when to be silent, when to work hard and when to lay back, when to actively pose questions and when to passively observe the situation. "Good sense" does involve some intelligence or ability to successfully engage and manage the reality of the moment even if, and maybe especially if, the reality is changing.<br><br>"Common sense" tends to be undermined by change. For example, in the late middle ages, "common sense" held that the earth was flat and that the sun revolved around it. Everyone knew that to be true. But with some theorizing, some invention and discovery, and some mathematics and imagination, and that "common sense" belief about the universe has been subverted rather completely, if slowly. And, if "common sense" resisted the changed perception at first, then "good sense" appreciated the need for the change.<br><br>Just about everyone has moments and situations in which they shine. And, just about everyone has moments and situations in which they find themselves inadequate. Everyone can try to cultivate "good sense" for whatever time and place is current. "Good sense" is far more deliberate than "common sense." "Common sense" sort of happens to you. "Good sense" is more sophisticated. It requires data and thoughtful learning, reflection, consideration and insight. One can never have enough or too much "good sense." One is never finished learning or growing in it.<br><br>"Good sense" is the very reason why adults need some sort of on-going education if they are to continue to thrive and grow. The very act of growing shows some good sense. Ceasing to grow and develop is a sign that life is being disengaged. "Good sense" as a way of life fosters a better quality of life and wisdom. Spirituality information tells us that your spiritual growth soars when you learn the art of being open to everything and attached to nothing.<br><br>The ultimate experience of being in spirit is when you can say "yes" to everything. You can only do that when you are attached to nothing. The one constant is that life is change and everything we know of in this physical relative universe is temporal and temporary.<br><br>Our mission here in the realm of the physical is to experience in the relative world everything that we know as concepts in the realm of the absolute. Nothing is closed to us and everything is available to us. We are beings of unlimited potential and the only thing holding us back from experiencing whatever we desire is any limiting beliefs we hold about life (God).<br><br>It is our beliefs that attach this stigma of limits to our existence and it is our beliefs that keep us attached to what we expect as a certain outcome for any given intention or desire. The more we are attached to a certain belief, the more we restrict or limit the universe in the fulfillment of our desires.<br><br>If we attach ourselves to a belief with enough conviction, we will effectively disallow any desire that doesn't align with that belief to manifest in our reality.<br><br>If you truly believe that you are not worthy to have a lot of money in your life, then no amount of praying, beseeching, working hard or even stealing will have the effect of allowing money to flow to you. You are constantly being trumped by your deeply held belief.<br><br>If you remain unattached from any limiting beliefs (and all beliefs are limiting) and open to all things, seen and unseen, then you open the floodgates of the creative process to allow anything you desire to come into your reality so that you may experience it.<br><br>You see, we are in a continual process of experiencing those desires that we choose to bring into our lives. Unfortunately, most people hold such an arsenal of limiting beliefs that they keep experiencing the same things over and over because they are attached to those beliefs and are not open to the vast array of experiences that lie just beyond their belief systems.<br><br>It is hard to say yes to something that you have already emphatically said no to. Being open to everything and attached to nothing allows you to say yes to everything. No judgments involved, no guilt involved, no limits involved, just a freewheeling desire to experience life (God) in all of its different perspectives.<br><br>Now this doesn't mean that you can't have preferences. You can be open to all experiences, including those that you might label as bad, such as stealing, lying and murder, but you can have preferences, based on your experience, that will lead you to choose experiences that are in alignment with who you choose to be.<br><br>You are still open to everything and attached to nothing but have a preference to choose experiences that keep you on a path that leads you toward your vision.<br><br>The blessing of not being attached to anything is that it allows you to let the universe work its magic and deliver your intentions and desires to you in an unrestricted form. When the manifestation of your desires arrives in your space in a form that is unfamiliar to you, you can still say yes to it because you are not attached to any preconceived form that you might have imagined.<br><br>This is the spice of life. This is where the fun is. It is in going beyond your comfort zone of awareness into the unknown of your existence that life truly reveals itself to you. Don't strap yourself to a boring existence of only accepting and being attached to those things in life that you are familiar with. Stretch yourself and your zest for life by saying yes to everything that shows up for you. Be attached to nothing and open to everything. Say yes to the unfamiliar. Revel in the magic of the universe.<br><br>Be non-attached and allow all things to flow to you.<br><p></p>

Indiana environment. My parents and most of my family were, and still
are conservative,and those values no doubt rubbed off on me. But as I
look back and began to question things,I realized that those teachings
were not only the way I was raised, but those values are the only
techniques that "work."</p>

<p>About the time I was forty , having experienced a good portion of
"life" , and not having everything turn out the way I had planned, even
though I had tried to do everything the "right" way, (get a good job,
join the right clubs,etc.) I began to question my values and look for
answers.</p>

<p>The journey I began took me to the corners of the earth, during
which time I studied the customs , ways, and beliefs of the Aborigines,
the American Indian, the Maya, the Egyptians, and many others.</p>

<p>Time and time again, the same answer keeps coming back to me.</p>

<p>I have found our society has become extremely entitlement
conscious,a lot of people want something for nothing and they think
that the government should pay for it.</p>

<p>They don't realize that when the government pays for something,
those free benefits become very expensive, and vast amounts of waste
and corruption enter into the scene.</p>

<p>We keep inching closer and closer to socialism in the United States,
that is not what our founding fathers had in mind. Our country was
founded on the principles of a free market and individualism, that is
how we became the leading economic country in the world.</p>

<p>The human being thrives best when it is free to choose and make it's own decisions, most people don't want to be drones.</p>

<p>Socialism simply doesn't work, when competition is taken out of the
mix, and people aren't rewarded for achieving, all incentive is lost
and a lot of the new innovations are never innovated, because there is
no reward.</p>

<p>Government is never the answer,that has been proven world wide,
whenever any government tries to solve a problem, the problem just gets
worse.</p>

<p>Everything that can be done by the private economy should be left in
the private sector, sure greed enters into it,but when any one company
or sector becomes too "greedy" someone with a better idea and a cheaper
price comes along and knocks them off their pedestal.</p>

<p>We as individuals have to solve our own problems and take our life
into our own hands,that is the only way it works, it is governments job
to stay out of the way.</p>

SUV sales are down over 43% from July of last year.<br></p><p>Used vehicles, almost always fall in value over time, however according to Kelly Blue Book, the rate of depreciation on large SUV's over the last year has been about double what is the norm.<br></p>

   <p>You might think that trading your large vehicle for something more economical would be a good idea.&nbsp; The fact that the demand for large vehicles&nbsp; plummeted and the price of gasoline has risen drastically might make for a good argument to trade down to something more economical.<br> </p><p>But many experts suggest sitting tight, for a variety of reasons.</p><p>There are many things to consider before you get rid of that gas guzzler, it might financially sensible to hang onto it for a while!<br> </p><p>How much is that new car going to cost you? How much do you spend a week on fuel now, and how much would you spend if a more economical vehicle was purchased? How much would you spend on a fuel efficient car.</p><p>The resale value of the car you own now has fallen drastically, the price of the fuel efficient vehicles has not fallen as rapidly, and in some cases it has risen.<br> </p>When you figure in the fact that your SUV will only bring bottom dollar, maybe half of what it would have a year ago, and the fact that you really won't be saving that much fuel, it could take years to recoup your losses!<br><br>
<p>A 3 year old Ford Explorer, for example, might only be worth $7,000, you might owe more on it than it is worth.</p><p>Taking that into consideration, and the fact that small vehicles are selling at a higher value than they were a year ago, that $10 a week you save in gas might seem pretty insignificant.</p>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[Many things are contributing the the current mortgage crisis.<br><br>However, one of the major reasons things are in such turmoil stems from the mortgage industry and the government&nbsp; itself.<br><br>One of the contributing factors was the fact the government wanted to enable lower income families to be able to buy their first home. The income requirements were lowered below the level they should have been.<br><br>The rule of thumb had always been that the amount of the monthly payment should not be more than one week's gross income. That added to the fact that twenty percent of the value of the property had to be put down ensured that the borrower had sufficient income to pay off the loan.<br><br>Hence the rules were changed, there were loans that could be had with no income verification, one hundred percent loans were given, all a borrower had to do was fog a mirror to qualify for a loan.<br><br>One of the unintended consequences was that , besides making homes available to people who really couldn't afford them, it increased the demand for property, whenever demand goes up, so does the price, this rapid increase in property values led to many people buying property on the speculation that it would rise in value in a short period of time, thus allowing the purchaser to "flip" the house, thus making a profit in a short period of time. As this practice continued,it began to feed upon itself until the values kept rising and rising. <br><br>Sooner or later the bubble had to burst, people were over extended, either because of speculation, or because they had purchased more house than they could afford. A sudden downturn in the economy, people started getting laid off, they began falling behind on payments, gas prices kept rising and soon there were a whole lot of houses that were overvalued, and no one to buy them.<br><p></p>

<p><br>The speculators were stuck with their houses, people quit buying, and the time came when you couldn't sell a harpoon to an Eskimo.<br><br>Now we have the government bailing out the very people that they encouraged to make the bad loans in the first place, and who pays for all of this government interference in a free market? A lot has been made of Jesse Jackson's comment last week in which he used the "N" word when he thought his mike was turned off.<br><br>At last, the real Jesse Jackson has surfaced. He has made a living by extorting money from giant corporations, he would contact these companies and if they didn't contribute to his foundation,he would bring forth charges of racism, either real or imagined.<br><br>He has made a living by keeping fellow African-Americans down, by playing the victim card, he has kept racism alive and well in America and around the world.<br><br>In my opinion it is despicable that some one would talk about a presidential candidate or any one that way. What happened to respect of the office of the Presidency?<br><br>&nbsp;I was always taught to respect the office, no matter what I thought of the president, or a candidate for president. Guess I didn't grow up in the same environment as he did.<br><br>If any one beside Jesse would have made a comment like that, the secret service would have, rightfully so, been all over it, and an investigation launched.<br><br>I am far from being a fan of Obama,however, actions such as Jesse Jackson's are despicable!<br><br>Wasn't it Jesse who called for the firing of Imus?&nbsp; Didn't he make a big uproar about it!&nbsp; What happened to&nbsp; his sense of righteousness? And what about Jimmy the Greek and the comment he made, or Rush Limbaugh, who was just making an observation about a black athlete?<br><br><br>Now some in the black community are trying to justify it by saying it is O.K. for a black to say the word, but not OK for someone of a different race. I'm sorry but it isn't acceptable for anyone to utter that word.<br><br>I thought the whole idea of equality was to make everything equal, not have separate rules for "privileged people".<br><br>Have we come to a place where we can't criticize someone if they are a certain race, creed or national origin.<br><br>What is that all about, are they above reproach?<br><p></p>

<br>The "Yes we can" campaign of Barry Obama, seems to be stalled. Every time a suggestion is made on how we can improve our country, the war in Iraq, or the economy, the first statement made by the left is, "that won't work."<br><br>The latest in a long line of impossible solutions is the possibility of opening more areas for oil drilling.With the known reserves in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Anwar(which, by the way, it's sole purpose of being created was for&nbsp; oil exploration) and all the oil off shore, we have more oil reserves in this country than all the known sources in Saudi Arabia. By developing those reserves , along with alternative energy supplies that would&nbsp; work, leave the corn alone, (bad Idea), The United States could be entirely self sufficient and not have to depend on terrorists for our energy supply.<br><br>With all the new technology available today, there are only two chances of pollution, slim and none. Their favorite mantra is, "well it wouldn't do any good, it would take ten years for us to receive any oil from a new well. <br><br>We, the greatest nation on earth, put a man on the moon in 7 years, created our own nation in eight years, defeated two of the largest and powerful countries&nbsp; the world has ever known, at the same time, in four years.<br><br>How big of an idiot do they think we are, what are they going to dig that oil well with, a pick and shovel?<br><br>They keep bringing up the same old story,we need wind power, solar power, etc. That is fine and dandy, however, I seriously doubt that an airplane, locomotive, or big truck will ever be powered by a windmill!<br><br>All types of energy sources need to be developed, the world needs them all! It is pig headed and small minded to think otherwise, let's quit playing politics with our economy and develop a plan, quit taking us back to the future.</p>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[As usual politicians only have a one track mind,and can't seem to think past their nose. <br>The common rhetoric&nbsp; to the illegals immigrant problem is,"Well , We can't deport 12 million illegals".<br><br>Well, we don't have to!&nbsp; All we have to do is make it tougher for employers to hire them,(make sure they are legal) increase and enforce the fines.&nbsp;  Force them to pay at least minimum wage.<br><br>If there is no incentive for the employers, and a penalty for doing something they shouldn't be doing in the first place, the practice would stop.<br><br>If there is no work, the illegals will go home or make an effort to become legalized. Thus the problem is solved! This isn't rocket science ! <br><br>Most politicians are pandering for votes, the way I see it Illegal immigrants shouldn't be voting anyway. The immigrants that come here legally don't like the way it is done either, most are law abiding citizens, and feel that everyone should abide by the same laws that they do.<br><br>I don't have a problem with immigration, but they should have to come here legally like everyone else. 		<content type="html"><![CDATA[How did we get to the point in this country and world where 17 girls from the same school can get pregnant at the same time and no one is outraged?<br><br>Does anyone seriously believe that there was no pact as they are now saying, and the school tries to make us believe?<br><br>How can something like that now be encouraged by our media and society? <br><br>An appearance on a national morning TV show, condoning these actions, what is that all about?<br><br>Day care centers in the schools and passing out condoms at school,what did these officials think was going to happen?<br><br>These girls were giving each other high fives, they won't be giving each other high fives a year from now when their hands are filled with a dirty diaper. <br><br>They were taking pregnancy test and disappointed when they weren't pregnant.<br><br>One of them got pregnant by a homeless man.<br><br>You can blame the parents, the school, society, whatever and true the way things are today that all plays a&nbsp; part, but the ultimate blame comes down to the individual. <br><br>Now I'm sure the rest of us , (the taxpayer) will get to pay for these so called mistakes.<br><p></p>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[Information relayed from Wikipedia<br><br><p>After <span style="text-decoration: underline;">reconstruction</span>,
white-elite Democrats wrestled for power until they regained it in
1877, partly through violent paramilitary tactics targeting freedmen
and allies to reduce their voting. From 1885 to 1889, the state
legislature passed statutes with provisions to reduce voting by blacks
and poor whites, which had threatened white Democratic power with a
populist coalition. As these groups were stripped from voter rolls,
white Democrats established power in a one-party state, as happened
across the South. In 1900 African Americans comprised 44% of the
state's population, the same proportion as before the Civil War, but
they were effectively disfranchised. From 1877 to 1948, Florida voted
for the Democratic candidate for president in every election except for
the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">1928 election</span>.</p>
<p>In response to segregation, disfranchisement and agricultural
depression, many African Americans migrated from Florida to northern
cities in the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Great Migration</span>,
in waves from 1910-1940, and again starting in the later 1940s. They
moved for jobs, better education for their children and the chance to
vote and participate in society. Given migration of other groups into
Florida (as noted in other sections of this article), by 1960 the
proportion of African Americans in the state had declined to 18%.</p>
<p>From 1952 through 2004, despite having a majority of registered
Democrats, the state voted for the Republican presidential candidate in
every election except for the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">1964</span>, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">1976</span>, and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">1996</span> elections. The first post-reconstruction Republican <span style="text-decoration: underline;">congressional representative</span> was elected in 1954. The state's first post-reconstruction Republican <span style="text-decoration: underline;">senator</span> was elected in 1968, two years after the first post-reconstruction Republican <span style="text-decoration: underline;">governor.</span></p>
<p></p>After all this and the 2000 Florida elections when the Democrats had so many problems voting, (the only districts that were contested were Democratic districts), millions were spent educating voters on how to vote, The rest of the state had no problem!)<br>They tried to blame Republicans, they tried to keep the overseas military, (the very people who protect our Freedoms) from voting, the only reason being was that the military generally votes conservative.<br><br>The Civil Rights act of the mid 60s would have never been passed if it hadn't been for Republicans, the southern Democrats would have never voted for it.<br>They continually play the race card, and the victim card, they want to keep as many people under their thumb and control as possible. People that are dependent on government for a paycheck are going to support whatever handout they are offered.<br><br>When you really do some research, one finds they don't really look after minorities and the downtrodden, they just want to make victims of them, keep them dependent on the government. They do nothing to lift anyone up to make them self sufficient. The message they portray is one of negativity and dependence.<br><br>&nbsp;Self sufficiency come from with-in, not some government agency.<br><p></p>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[<font face="Georgia" size="3">I have often wondered what our founding
fathers would have thought about our obsession with political
correctness, when some think that God should never be mentioned in the
political arena.<br><br>The following article is reprinted from The Double Eagle:<br><br>They
(the founding fathers),&nbsp;left us with numerous warnings about what would
happen if we violated the principles that they had put in place. Our
forefathers admonished us to continue to seek God's direction in the
affairs of our nation. They warned us that to do otherwise would bring
confusion, division, and doom our country.<br><br>Our founding fathers
believed that a constitutional government was inadequate to control an
immoral people. They warned that a nations morality was conditional on
its citizens acknowledging God and submitting to his principles. To do
otherwise would result in a divided nation that would experience a
deteriorating political prosperity , leading ultimately to the national
denial of God's headship and authority. This final act would bring
God's judgment on America and her people.<br><br>Consider the following warnings from our founding fathers:<br><br>Thomas
Jefferson:" And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we
have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the
people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to
be violated but with his wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I
reflect that God is just: that His justice cannot sleep forever."<br><br>George
Washington: "And let us indulge&nbsp;with caution the supposition
that&nbsp;morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience
both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the
exclusion of religious principle."<br><br>James&nbsp;Madison: " We've staked
the whole future of American civilization not on the power of
government, far from it. We have staked the future.. upon the capacity
of each and all of us to govern ourselves,to control ourselves, to
sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandants of God. The future
and success of America is not in this constitution, but in the laws of
God upon which this constitution is founded."&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>John Adams " Our
constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is
wholly inadequate to the government of any other."<br><br>Clearly, our
nation's heritage is deeply rooted in religious principles. This was at
the core of our founding father's beliefs. Our forefathers took God's
Word seriously and they established a nation founded on biblical
principles that publicly acknowledge God's headship and providential

		<title>The Purpose of this Blog</title>

		<content type="html"><![CDATA[I have titled this blog "Uncommoncommonsense", it seems that in today's world, so much is done and said not only by politicians but by the rest of us as well, that makes no sense whatsoever. Things that would have been unheard of and outlandish just a few years ago, are now accepted as truth and normal.<br><br>People will say and do anything to get elected, make more money, or whatever else it is they want in life. <br><br>The truth didn't change, peoples perception of it has, and I'm not sure why that has happened. I think we have forgotten what our parents and grandparents taught us. The things that made them successful. We have gotten so caught up in political correctness and being in the "in" crowd, that doing the "right thing" or the things that will lead to a happy and fulfilling life have been forgotten. <br><br>With that thought I have begun this blog, to share some thoughts on how we got to where we are, and how can we get the important things back in our life, I&nbsp; know that change is in the works, and some change is good, however, it has to be change for the good, not change for the sake of change,we have to remember to not throw the baby out with the bath water!<br><br><p></p>
